Privacy

Robin Sutherland Mastering is the trading name of Voitto Audio Oy, a Finnish limited company based in Janakkala, which is the data controller for anything described here. This page explains what personal information I handle when you get in touch or hire me, and what happens to it. The short version: I keep only what I need to answer you, do the work and invoice you, and I don't sell or share it with anyone who isn't part of doing that.

What I collect

• Enquiries: the name, email address, artist name and message you send through the contact form or by email.
• Projects: the audio files and notes you send me (usually via Samply), and the correspondence around them.
• Billing: the name, address and payment details needed to invoice you. Card payments are handled by Stripe; I never see or store card numbers.

Why

To reply to you, to master and deliver your project, to invoice you, and to keep the records I am legally required to keep as a Finnish business. That is the whole list. No marketing lists, no profiling.

Where it is kept and who helps me process it

• Email and the contact form are handled by my website and email host.
• File uploads and deliveries go through Samply, WeTransfer or Dropbox, depending on what you send and how. Files stay in those services for as long as the project needs them and can be deleted from them on request.
• Payments go through Stripe.
• Working files live on my studio computers and, once a project is finished, in an offline archive that is not connected to the internet.

Each of these providers processes data on my behalf under their GDPR data-processing terms. Some of them operate outside the EU under the EU's standard contractual clauses.

How long

• Audio files and project material: kept in the offline archive after delivery, so revisions, represses and re-releases stay straightforward even years later; copies in Samply, WeTransfer or Dropbox are cleared once no longer needed. If you'd like your files deleted from any or all of these at any point, just ask and I'll remove them.
• Correspondence and enquiries: as long as they are useful for the working relationship, reviewed periodically.
• Invoices and accounting records: six years, as required by Finnish bookkeeping law.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and uses no advertising or social-media trackers. If I add simple, cookie-free visitor statistics in future, this page will say so.

Your rights

You can ask what information I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how it's used. Email robin@robinsutherlandmastering.com and I'll sort it out. If you're not happy with how I've handled something, you can contact the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman.
